Set in the heart of Busoga, it offers guests a quiet base from which to explore the region\u2019s cultural richness\u2014villages, landscapes, and heritage sites all within one hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sanctuary is intentionally small and human-scaled, with a limited number of cottages that ensure privacy, stillness, and personal hosting. Guests are welcomed as respectful visitors, engaging in meaningful cultural experiences guided by local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong>: The Sanctuary Manager is the custodian of Akampamani\u2019s experience and ethos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are responsible for preparing, launching, and running the sanctuary in a way that protects its core promise: peace, dignity, and meaningful cultural connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring equal attention to People (guests, staff, community partners), Place (environment, facilities, atmosphere), Purpose (Tusangaire mission and cultural integrity).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pre-Opening Leadership (June \u2013 July 2026)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead all preparations for August 2026 soft launch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recruit and train a small, values-aligned team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and implement simple, effective SOPs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set up systems for:<ol><li>Guest hosting and reservations<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Daily operations and reporting<\/li><\/ol>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Procurement and inventory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct trial runs to ensure readiness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stewardship of Guest Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Personally oversee guest arrival, stay, and departure experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure the sanctuary remains:<ul><li>Quiet<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Clean<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Safe<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Restful<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Handle guest needs and concerns with care and discretion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protect the sanctuary from noise, overcrowding, or misuse<br><br><strong>Cultural Experience Integration<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build and maintain relationships with:<ul><li>Local guides<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Families and cultural custodians<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Community partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinate cultural experiences that are:<ul><li>Respectful<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Authentic<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Well-organized<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure fair and timely benefit sharing with communities<br><br><strong>Team Leadership &amp; Culture<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recruit and mentor staff from local communities where possible<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Train staff in:<ul><li>Hospitality and hosting<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Cultural sensitivity<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Professional conduct<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster a calm, respectful, and accountable team culture<br><br><strong>Financial &amp; Operational Management<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage day-to-day operational costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain basic financial records and reporting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure efficient use of resources without compromising quality<br><br><strong>Growth &amp;
