Human Capital Business Solutions Ltd is a Boutique HR Advisory Firm that specializes in strategic HR Consulting, Talent Acquisition & Development, Risk Management and Business Process Outsourced Services with our Headquarters based in Uganda and Country Office in Tanzania.

On behalf of our client – Steel Corporation of East Africa, we are looking for competent and experienced Sales Managers (2) to be based in Jinja, Uganda.

Reports To: The Head of Sales

Duty Station:  Jinja, Uganda

Job Summary: The Sales Manager will play a key role in driving sales growth and expanding market reach for TMT Bars, Chain Link Fencing, Binding Wire, Barbed Wire Fencing through identifying potential customers, developing marketing campaigns, and nurturing client relationships to achieve sales targets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Plan and monitor sales performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure sales targets and collection are met and analyze sales data to evaluate effectiveness of sales and marketing initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
  2. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of sale with clients, preparing proposals, quotes, and sales agreements in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with existing dealers, contractors & clients addressing their needs, resolving issues, and providing ongoing support to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  4. Identify potential customers and market segments through market research, industry analysis, and customer profiling.
  5. Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to promote products or services, increase brand awareness, and drive customer engagement.
  6. Conduct sales presentations, product demonstrations, and pitches to prospective clients, highlighting key features, benefits, and value propositions.
  7. Generate leads, follow up on inquiries, and qualify prospects through outbound calls, emails, networking events, and social media outreach.
  8. Collaborate with the marketing team to create marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, advertisements, and online content, to support sales efforts and marketing campaigns.
  9. Plan and execute marketing campaigns, promotions, and events to generate leads, drive traffic, and increase sales conversions across various channels.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements that could impact marketing efforts.
  11. Develop product positioning strategies for various steel products to target specific industries like construction, infrastructure or automotive.
  12. Ensure a professional image is maintained in all communication, both internal and external.
  13. Provide regular reports to management on campaign outcomes, market conditions, and strategic recommendations.
  14. Foster strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders in the steel industry to understand needs and preferences.
  15. Contribute to the development of sales forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans, providing input and insights to support business growth objectives.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field
  • Understanding of the steel manufacturing industry – TMT Bars, Chain Link Fencing, Binding Wire, Barbed Wire Fencing
  • At least 3-7 years post qualification experience as a marketing specialist.
  • Analytical skills, ability to analyze market data, campaign performance metrics, and customer insights to optimize marketing strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative and strategic thinking-to align marketing initiatives with broader business goals and sales objectives.
  • Strong project management skills to handle multiple marketing campaigns simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery and within budget.
  • Problem-solving skills to address challenges in audience engagement and budget constraints.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, to be able to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong technical skills.
