Security Operations Manager

Our client Industrial Security Services Ltd is looking for a competent and experienced Security Operations Manager to be based in Hoima, Uganda.

Reports To: The General Manager

Duty Station, Hoima

Job Summary: This is a technical role which involves ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets and facilities within the organization. The role also involves developing, implementing, and overseeing security strategies and protocols. The Security Operations Manager will work closely with various stakeholders, including field operations, corporate security, and law enforcement agencies to mitigate risks, respond to incidents, and maintain compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures to safeguard personnel, facilities, and assets in oil and gas operations.
2. Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend measures to enhance security protocols.
3. Oversee the management of security personnel, ensuring adequate staffing and training to effectively respond to security threats.
4. Collaborate with operational teams to integrate security measures into daily operations, including logistics, transportation, and site management.
5. Coordinate incident response efforts, including investigations and reporting of security breaches or incidents.
6. Liaise with local law enforcement and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with legal and industry standards.
7. Monitor and analyze security trends and incidents to inform strategy and improve security practices.
8. Prepare and present security reports to senior management, highlighting security performance, incidents, and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

1. Bachelor's degree in a related field.
2. Understanding of security management.
3. At least 5-8 years post qualification experience as a Security Operations Manager.
4. Strong understanding of security protocols, risk management and regulatory compliance specific to oil and gas operations.
5. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams in a challenging environment.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Barriers to Success in Role

• Limited or lack of technical knowledge about the security protocols.
• Inability to analyze security data and incidents to inform decision making.
